We went to Telluride during the 4th of July weekend for some mountain biking and hiking! We had a rough start ~ as we were about to leave for Colorado we drove out of the neighborhood and realized we forgot our sleeping bags so we had to go back. Then we had to stop in Spanish Fork at a auto shop to borrow their WD40 to spray the locks on our bike rack because they were stuck. Then at the mouth of Spanish Fork canyon we heard a pop on the roof and I could see my bike flopping around so we pulled over and could not fix it so we had to make room in a already packed car for my bike. THEN as i crawled back in the car I got stung by a bee on my knee. haha good times. We made it to Telluride as the sun was going down and set up camp in the dark. The campground we stayed at was called Alta Lakes which was 5 miles up a dirt rocky road at 11,000 feet elevation, very secluded. Telluride is nestled between tall mountains, there is only one way in. It is very beautiful and a very active town. It is an old mining town. There are absolutely no fast food restaurants and 2 gas stations. Everyone I saw was in great shape. The houses are unique and expensive!! It reminded me of Park City or Jackson Hole. We saw tons of different kinds of animals. We finished everything we wanted to do there sooner than we thought so for the last night we drove to Moab and did an awesome hike that started across the street from the Colorado River. Here are the pictures... :)
